I am research entomologist at Kentucky State University, in Frankfort, Kentucky. I am studying the Microsporidia Nosema apis and N. ceranae and the amoeba Malphigamoeba mellificae, pathogens believed to be involved in the recent decline in honey bee populations. I also study pollen and seed biology as they relate to the honey bee digestion and spore pathogenesis.

I have a BA in English Literature and an MSc in Entomology.
